Free Movies

There was a heated discussion going on in the newsroom recently, Netflix, Blockbuster or Redbox.  Deep, huh?  No, but seriously, a few folks were talking about costs versus convenience, being able to get movies on your gaming systems, etc.  I’ll do you one better, how about free?

Kelly Pressy at Kelly’s Coupon Addiction told me she uses text codes to get free movies, so I had to check it out.  Here’s how it works:

Log onto www.redbox.com and click on the box that says Redbox on Your Phone.  It then gives you the option to join the Redbox Text Club.  I got a free movie for signing up, plus a credit.  I also clicked on the About Redbox tab, and in the bottom left hand corner, under “Annoucements” there are instructions to text a code, and get a free movie.

Email me at consumerwatch@wtvm.com, or post a comment if you know about other ways to get free movies.
