Wonderful Wednesdays

Yes, it’s hump day which means we’re half way through the work week, but there is another reason you should be glad to see Wednesday come around (that is if you’re into saving).  It’s the day most grocery stores release new sale ads.

If you don’t coupon, or aren’t trying to slash your food costs right now, the thought of me getting excited to see circulars on Wednesday is probably laughable to you.  But think of it this way, mark it on the calendar as a day that money goes back into your pocket…and that should put a different kind of smile on your face!

Grocery store sales work in cycles, essentially prices go up and then hit their rock bottom at certain points.  Click here to read more about that.  On a more basic level though, it’s good to know when store sales run.  For many grocery stores like Winn Dixie and Publix, the sale runs Wednesday through Tuesday.  The first couple of days are usually the best times to shop because shelves are still full. (You can always get a rain check if something is out)  Drug store sales run Sunday through Saturday.  Having this basic knowledge is a great step to saving when it comes to your food budget.  You can plan your shopping and your meals around this calendar.  Even better, there are lots of blogs out there that post the ads for you, even sneak peeks in some cases.  Check some out below.

Another bonus, the Publix Mystery Coupon comes out on Wednesday.

Plus, I found this one today, called the Summer Breakfast Sale.

Hope you have a great Wednesday!
