Avoid ID Theft

By: Steve Brown, Mr. Tax of America

BE CAREFULL USING WIFI TO E-FILE TAX RETURNS OR VIEW FINANCIAL WEB SITES!

WIFI signals, passwords and financial information can be intercepted in public places.  When you are doing any online, financial transactions make sure you are plugged into a safe internet connection.

BEWARE OF THIS ONLINE TAX SCAM !!

If you receive an email from the IRS  requesting information or claiming to have an extra tax refund due you to an error DO NOT REPLY.   The IRS does NOT send emails to you requesting information.  I have looked at several phony IRS emails that were very real looking.  The IRS is overwhelmed with identity theft scams.

Be careful that you don’t become one of the many victims in Columbus.
